Bronxville Schools Superintendent Roy Montesano issued a letter to parents late on Thursday, Nov. 5 cautioning that a staff member - who is not associated with a specific classroom - tested positive for the virus.
According to Montesano, the staffer was not in the Bronxville School on Thursday, and did not have any close contacts with students or teachers.
Montesano said that the district is in the process of contact tracing to determine who may have been exposed to COVID-19 as of Tuesday, Nov. 3, when there was no in-person learning at the school.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are asking for a couple of staff members to stay home tomorrow and Monday (Nov. 9) so they can get tested, although they were not considered a ‘close’ contact,” Montesano said.
“This information is provided as a reminder of the importance of adhering to social distancing, mask-wearing, and handwashing protocols,” he added. “This positive case does not impact any classroom instruction and there is no need to consider suspending in-person instruction at this time.”
